Father's Day 2011

We had a great Father's Day! Today Liam and I slept in and had a nice breakfast together. We met my dad for lunch, took a nap and then made the drive to see pop-pops play ball. The game was rained out :( but Liam loved it. Liam was able to play in the dugout, run the bases, and play on the field. He has a real arm on him, I'm impressed! We ended the day buyng a new bike for mommy so we can take rides in the beautiful parks we have next to our house.

This week Liam is putting saying 3 word sentences and his words are clear! He has also learned that if he giggles and makes his charming smile when I ask him to do something it buys him a few seconds before he gets in trouble for not listening. He is very "passionate" about what he wants to do these days also. He uses the phrase "I don't like" quite often. Did I tell you how much I love toddlerhood?!? (SIGH)

Liam starts swim lessons this week. He graduated to the Perch I class, still has a parent with him. Paul is taking Liam to this swim lesson session but mommy will be close by. Stay tuned.....

May-tastic!

Hello everyone!
Long time, no blog. It's been a busy month!! Liam turned 2 and he was very proud of it, told everyone he saw. We had his birthday party on the 14th. It was a complete success, minus the rain and Liam falling on his face 2 hours before it started...sigh. No one listened to the "no gifts please" on the invite.....Liam has more than enough toys for a 2 year old!

We had our photo shoot with Tess, on the beach. It was so much fun! can't wait to see the results :)

Lastly, we went on vacation to North Carolina. Liam did so well in the car ride and in the chaotic house that held 24 O'Malleys! He hated the ocean for the first 4 days but finally warmed up and wanted to dive in the waves, on the board. He picked up on some awesome O'Malley traits while we were there; screaming accross the room for no reason, laughing too loud, stomping as you walk, and some choice vocabulary that I'm hoping he will forget.

We had our follow up appt with the GI specialist. She is really pleased with Liam's progress. He has leveled off with his weight and grew 3 inches! Since he is doing well, she is allowing us to reintroduce soy into his diet. If you know me, I am anti-soy. Paul and I decide that we are not going to start giving him soy milk or tofu but we will introdice foods that might have a small amount of soy in it. Well, we introduced waffles with soy flour. Liam was a huge fan. I asked him to throw his plate away and I found him at the garbage licking hte plate! HA!He had no reaction, yay! This introduction will help open up some more options for Liam (and us) in the grocery store.

As far as Liam's development, he is meeting some huge milestones! his favorite word is "no" even when he means "yes", he has finally figured out that I follow through with my warnings when he misbehaves, he is putting together 2-3 word sentences, his words are getting much clearer, he can jump with both feet off the ground, he says "me do" for everything, and loves giving hugs and kisses. We're still struggling with some separation anxiety, he is definitely a momma's boy!

Here are his new words for the month of May: cucumber, garbage, dark, dip, pretzel, window, hairpane (airplane), and popsicle.

Easter 2011

Liam had a "special" bunny cake made just for his special tummy. He wasn't a huge fan, he prefers chocolate!

ROTTEN!

Liam and Pop-Pops, he is looking more and more like my dad!

Momma and her happy baby!

Eggs-tra-special!

Liam was so serious and had to make sure all the eggs were being mixed well!! He said "gentle" everytime he moved an egg in the bowel. He is mommy's gentle giant :)

Liam graduated from a Shrimp to a Perch in his swim class! I'm so proud :) He is not a fan of floating on his back so next lesson we are going to help him feel comfortable with that. He mastered the tummy float, jumping off the side of the pool into water, and blowing bubbles (helps to practice blowing out if they ever get stuck under water).
